Surplus Yugo M70 wood stock, unissued with no serial numbers. These stocks look unused however have stains and dings from sitting in a warehouse for decades. Excellent condition. No Hardware or buttpad included. Classified as replacement wooden AK furniture.
This is the third time I've bought this product. First two times I received good stocks with nice grain patterns after I cleaned them up. This time, one out of the three was cracked through and water stained so badly I couldn't use it without it being noticeably flawed. The other two in that shipment were slightly better. Going to take a lot of work cleaning them up but I think they might turn out.
As musty and damp as they arrived, a light sanding and some ting oil brought them right back. Better than the stock furniture on the M70. They turned out better than I could’ve hoped for. Now if I could only find the hardware to mount the stock.
As described. a few stains here and there. Stock did require a little bit of sanding and work with a razor to get the stock to fit to the rifle(sanding) and the rubber buttpad (using a razor to cut a VERY thin slice of wood from around the raised area of wood that the rubber buttpad fits over. The sanding portion was on the thin square peg that fits into the receiver, it was a bit too long for mine and took a little bit of sanding to make it sit flush with the receiver.
If you are buying this to replace the cheesy US abomination of a stock it comes with, you MUST buy the stock bolt also sold on here as the bolt that comes with the ZPAP is WAY too short to fit all the way through this stock. I hope the owner of this fine site doesn't mind since he sells everything for the stock but the buttpad screws, but those screws are available from numrich gun parts "Product # 518450E" and are the right size screws for your stock and rubber buttpad.
One huge downside is that ZPAP's dont have the receiver mounted sling swivel like the normal M70 does, I am not sure how I want to solve this problem for myself. My options are down to installing a screw in sling swivel like on a hunting rifle, which wouldn't look right imo, Or inletting the stock with a chisel or something and fitting the normal AK sling swivel onto the buttstock. Just some things to ponder on your quest to restoring your Yugo / Serb to its full glory!
Arrived in good condition but the buttpad would not fit right away, and needed to be fitted to the stock. Overall satisfied.
